Ursuline Sisters of Cleveland celebrate Sesquicentennial

"150 Years of God's Abundant Blessings"

The Ursuline Sisters of Cleveland are celebrating their 150th Anniversary of ministry in the Diocese of Cleveland.

The special Sesquicentennial commemoration begins with a Liturgy of the Eucharist celebrated by Bishop Anthony M. Pilla on Sunday, August 1 at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist in downtown Cleveland and closes with the dedication of a Sesquicentennial Garden on August 6, 2000.

The calendar of Sesquicentennial events is as follows:

• August 1, 1999 -- Sesquicentennial Liturgy and Reception; St. John Cathedral  (invitation only)
• October 23, 1999 -- Feast of St. Ursula:  A Celebration with Toledo and Youngstown Ursulines
• November 7, 1999 -- All Souls Liturgy with emphasis on deceased Sisters
• January 29, 2000 -- Feast of St. Angela Community Celebration
• April 1, 2000 -- Legacy Seminar
• May 6, 2000 -- Re-Member Day: Celebration with former congregation members
• June 25, 2000 -- Concert on the Knoll: Celebrating 150 years with music
• August 6, 2000 -- St. Angela Sesquicentennial Garden dedication
